I studied art in Bristol, gaining a first class honours degree in 1990. After leaving art college I produced illustrations for a number of publications including four children’s stories for the BBC TV Playdays series. I have completed a foundation in Art Therapy and a PGCE teacher training course. My paintings have been exhibited in numerous exhibitions, including prestigious venues such as Christie’s, Bonhams and the Mall Galleries in London. Lord Bath bought one of my paintings for his Wessex Art Collection at Longleat House.
Abstract Paintings I communicate rhythm and energy through spontaneous mark making, and endeavour to express something of the joyful playfulness that can be found in the act of applying pigment to canvas. I paint with a deep respect for the power of colour and form to capture subconscious emotion. This method can enable the visualisation of non-representational truths that speak to the elusive moments in life.
Painting Commissions I am happy to consider painting most subjects. I require a clear colour photograph to work from and produce commissions of either watercolour on paper, or acrylics on canvas. Watercolour pictures will need to be framed behind glass. My acrylic paintings are produced on deep canvases and do not need to be framed.
Ultrasound & Baby Paintings I undertake commissions to paint ultrasound scans. By having your baby scan painted onto canvas, you can capture this personal miracle of life for posterity.
